About Us

Dowell Performance Horses starts by having owners and or riders define specific goals that they would like to accomplish. Those goals start with a dream, and are then broken down into what needs to be done to achieve that goal. We believe that the journey of achievement is a good part of the reward in any accomplishment. No doubt this takes some work on everyone's part, we also believe it can be one of the most fun, worthwhile, personal conquests one can endeavor in.

Some History

Carrie has been training horses for over 24 years. In that time she has been involved in the training of numerous Congress finalists, AQHA World Qualifiers, State Fair and North American Champions as well as numerous year-end award winners in state and regional associations. Horses and riders trained by Dowell Performance Horses have won countless all-around and high point titles. Recently, they've focused on ARHA approved events. In the last three years, horses and riders from the Dowell barn have won over 20 ARHA World Champion Titles, more than 15 Honor Roll titles and many ROM's Open, Youth, Amateur Champions, and Performance Versatility Awards.

Carrie Dowell is a true horseman. In my over 20 years of showing on a very competitive AQHA level, she has provided training, focus and friendship, and has helped futher my career as a successful Amateur. Carrie has always put forth the greatest of efforts to achieve the overall best for both me and my horses,making them successful for me in my environment . They are quiet, confident and correct, knowing their job. Her focus on goals and her guidance to achieving them, has given me a new outlook on my success in the show ring.
